General Advice 

1. Do Not Send Money!!! Just like anywhere there are honest people and there are dishonest people. The point of your correspondence is to develop a special relationship with a foreign women, not to purchase one. We want you to be aware that you may contact women who will ask you for money for one reason or another. If you are asked for money it should immediately set off alarms and you should proceed very cautiously. There are instances where there may be a valid reason to send money to someone with whom you have been corresponding for some time. In that instance it is recommended that you send it via wire (Western Union).

2. Do include a photo of yourself, and not just any photo. Take some time and put some thought into it. For example, if you are the outdoors type you may want to take it while hiking or biking. The point is to give the women the best possible representation of yourself. In order to keep the costs of the photos to a minimum, you should consider choosing two or three of your best photos and have color copies made instead of developing a new picture for each reply.

3. Try including a little something extra to let her know she is special. This could consist of a pressed flower, or a picture of you as an infant or a toddler, or maybe a poem written in her native language. The idea is to try and distinguish your response from others.

4. Remember when writing your letter that this woman's native language is not English. That doesn't mean she will not be able to understand your letter, but by keeping it simple you will have a much better chance of successfully communicating with her. Try to avoid using four or five syllable words, instead of impressing her you will probably just confuse her. For postal letters make sure you neatly print your letter as opposed to in cursive. If your handwriting is difficult to read you may consider typing it.

5. Try to keep the initial letter fast paced. You certainly don't want to be discussing things like marriage and what your children are going to look like in your first letter! You may want to tell her a little about yourself, where you were raised, and what schools you have attended. Write a little about your interests, hobbies, and likes and dislikes. Basically, just write about things that you would normally talk about on a first date.

6. Make sure you ask her plenty of questions about herself in your first letter. People like to know that other people are interested in them and their activities. By asking questions about her she will think that you are interested in her as a person and she will want to respond to you immediately.

7. You may find it useful to do some independent research on the country of origin of the woman you are interested in. Not only will it impress the woman, but it may save you from committing a gaffe. You must always remember that this woman was raised in a totally different culture than our own. Obviously, it is in your best interest to know as much as possible about that culture.

8. Should you get to the point that you want to visit the women you are corresponding with, we strongly advise to use the service of a reputable travel agency. Traveling abroad is very different from domestic traveling, and a good travel agent will make sure your trip goes as smoothly as possible. We strongly recommend that you interview at least two or three agents before placing your travel plans with one. It's maybe better that you meet the woman in your country because she can visit her future country.

9.If you do change your mind, be honest and advise the lady involved. Do not just disappear without saying something. Russian women will accept it if you change your mind. Remember this woman is willing to change her life for you. So be courteous and tell her you have changed your mind.

10. The last and probably most important tip of all is be patient. Consider for a moment how long you have been searching for that perfect mate, ten, twenty, even thirty years? This is an important process and the results of the decision that you make will be far reaching and long lasting. Take the time to correspond with many different women before committing to that special one. 2. Do not place to much emphasis on the woman's photo: Remember this is just one amateur snapshot that she sent in to us. Take out your driver license and look at your photo, is that really representative of how you look today? The point is that the woman in the photo may look quite different in real life, so don't be too easily discouraged from writing to some of the women whose photos may not look perfect.

3. Read the ladies bio information. This information is there for a reason, you will be wasting your time as well as the ladies by responding to a women whom you know you will not be compatible with.

4. For postal letters, address the letter properly: Believe it or not the Post Office in our country is one of the most efficient of its kind in the world. Thus we have become a little spoiled when it comes to our mail. Therefore it is important that you do every thing in your power to help ensure that your letter reaches its destination.

5. Return Address of a postal letter : Write your return address on the envelope, and also include a few return address labels with your letter so the lady won't have a problem responding to you.

6. Multiple Postal Letters: It may be a good idea to send the letter in both type and written form. This way if she has a problem reading your handwriting she can refer to the typed copy.

7. Make Copies It is important to make copies of the letters that you send to the women, especially if you are writing to many women at once. By doing this, when a lady responds to you, you can simply refresh your memory as to what you initially wrote.

8. Include Photo Always include a photo of yourself along with your letter.

9.Do not have lengthy correspondence as nothing substitutes for face to face interaction. Meet her as soon as possible to keep the spark alive and realize the beauty, attraction, originality, tenderness of your woman, to see her, to hear her, to enjoy her. After this you will know your decision is right.

Fiancée Visa US

When contemplating marriage to a foreign national, first look to the laws of the jurisdiction to see under what conditions the foreign country will allow the marriage and to see if there is a residency requirement for the United States spouse to fulfill. The United States consulate in the country can assist you with information concerning these requirements. Usually a foreign residency requirement will be much longer time than you can afford or desire to spend abroad.

If a foreign marriage occurs, the American spouse must file a Petition for Alien Relative and endure many months or even years of separation from his new spouse while the petition is approved and then finally processed at the foreign consulate abroad.

A citizen of the United States has an additional option available to him: the fiancee visa. The U.S. citizen can petition for a visa for his alien fiancee to allow her admission to the United States for a period of ninety days to allow for them to prepare for their marriage and life together. The fiancee process can be completed in a much shorter time period than a spousal petition.

The Petition for Alien Fiancée is approved here in the United States by the Immigration & Naturalization Service (INS) service center with jurisdiction over the residence of the U.S. citizen petitioner. To qualify for a fiancée visa, the citizen petitioner must provide proof that he is a citizen by birth or by naturalization, that he is legally able to marry his fiancée and intends to do so, and that his fiancee beneficiary is legally able to marry him. In addition, the citizen petitioner must provide proof that he has met his fiancée in person within the last two years. It is recommended that such proof consist of photographs of the petitioner and beneficiary together, copies of the petitioner's passport showing entry and exit stamps to the beneficiary's home country and other similar items. The requirement for a personal meeting can be waived under certain limited grounds, such as a custom in the fiancée's culture allowing for arranged marriages or extreme hardship (such as severe health restrictions) to the petitioner.

To begin the process, the petitioner will file Form I-129F Petition for Alien Fiancée with the INS service center for his region. This is NOT the local district INS office near your home. In addition, the petitioner will submit a signed Form G-325 Biographic Data sheet for himself and for his fiancee, copies of proof of the termination of all prior marriages for himself and for his fiancée, "green card" type photographs of both the petitioner and beneficiary, and an Affidavit of Support showing the willingness of the Petitioner to provide ;support for his fiancee if she is allowed to be admitted to the United States. All documents in a foreign language must be accompanied by a certified English translation of the document. (It is advisable for you to assist your fiancee in gathering the information, documents, and photos while you are there with her rather than to try to collect materials later via the mail).

If the fiancee has unmarried children, they should be included in the petition and may be able to accompany her to the United States. The children may also follow to join their parent within one year of the initial visa approval. However, unless the marriage to the alien fiancee occurs before a child's 18th birthday, the child will not be able to receive residency based on the marriage to the U.S. citizen. He would be able to be petitioned by his mother based on her new residency status but, under current waiting lists for that category, he would not receive a "green card" for over seven years.

The Affidavit of Support (currently INS Form I-134) requires supporting documents such as employment letters, bank letters, and a list of stocks held by the petitioner. A new form, INS Form I-864 is due to go into effect in December 1997 and will require the submission of the Petitioner's last three tax returns with proof that the petitioner meets minimal income requirements to support his alien fiancée. The purpose of the Affidavit of Support is to show the government that the alien fiancée will not be a burden (or "public charge") on the people of the Unite States. The burden in all INS matters is on the petitioner and beneficiary to show their eligibility for the benefit requested.

Approval of the petition by the Service can take between just a few days to several weeks. The approved petition is then sent to the U.S. consulate with Immigrant Visa jurisdiction over the beneficiary's place of residence. For example, for the former soviet Union, the IV consulate is in Moscow. Selection of another consulate other than the consulate with jurisdiction does not guarantee that the selected consulate will accept the case. Upon receipt of the approved petition packet at the consulate abroad, the alien fiancée is contacted and scheduled for an interview. The consulate will mail a packet of materials to the fiancée to allow her to complete the application process for receiving the K-1 visa. The consulate will include an itemized list of required documentation for the beneficiary to bring to the interview. This list will be in the beneficiary's native language.

Some of the items will be required for your fiancée's appointment at the consulate will be her birth certificate and English translation, the results of a physical examination performed by a doctor approved by the consulate, a valid passport, a police letter documenting lack of criminal history, verification of any ;name changes and original copies of proof of termination of all prior marriages of the beneficiary. If the fiancée's child or children are to accompany her, then the same documents will be required for the child(ren).

The consulate will make an initial determination of admissibility (or exclusion) to the United States. Some grounds of exclusion include criminal arrests, terrorist activities, trafficking in narcotics, habitual drunkenness, and insanity. If there are grounds for exclusion, there may be waivers available. The consulate will also make serious inquiry into the intentions of the parties and as to whether the marriage may be a marriage of convenience to gain an immigration benefit for the beneficiary. A marriage of convenience, or "sham marriage" can have serious consequences for both the petitioner and beneficiary if detected.

Upon approval of the K-1 Visa, the consulate will place the visa into the beneficiary's passport. The child(ren) will receive K-2 Visas. This visa permits the fiancée to enter the United States within six months of the date of approval by the consulate.

Upon entry into the United States, the fiancée is only permitted to remain for a period of ninety days. There are no extensions allowed. during the admission to the United States, the fiancée will receive employment authorization from the INS.

The petitioner and beneficiary must marry within the ninety day window or the beneficiary must leave the United States. If marriage to the petitioner occurs, the married couple will then apply for adjustment of status to lawful permanent resident at the INS district office in their area. If the marriage does not occur and the fiancée returns to her home country within the ninety day period, then the parties retain eligibility to pursue this option with other potential spouses in the future.
